                 Court and Testamentary Business, 1647. 347

     

      this Dept sayth tht he demanded the Beaur of both prties, Liber A.

      being both prnt together. they confessed to be due to the

      sd Pursall. And desyred this Dept to call for it, when he went

      next to Virginia. About a yeare after this Dept going to Virg:

      demanded the sd Beaur of James Cauther, & the sd Cawther

      replyed, tht he had not the Beaur there att home ffor it was p. 104

      att Jno Hollis howse & soe this Dept went to Virg. wthout any

      Beaur for the sd Pursafl. And this Dept further sayth tht to his

      knowledge the sd Pursall did appoynt Marks Pheypo his

      Attorney to receiue the sd debt. but whether the sd Marks

      receiued the sd debt he knoweth not. & further he sayth not.

     

     

        Decembr 2o Edward Hull aged 27 yeares or thereabouts)

      Att the request of Willm Wheateley Attorney of Mr Tho:

      Thorneborough sayth uppon his oath, That being att tl1e ffort,

      & some of Gouernors Caluerts horses being in the feild, it was

      demanded of the sd Gouernor (the prties this dept remembreth

      not) why he backed not his horses. & Mr Caluert replyed tht

      he had gyuen on horse to Mr Thorneborough & he shold back

      him. & further he sayth not.

     

     

        Thomas Waggott demandeth of George Manners 670 l Tob

      due by Bill.

        wart to the Sheriffe to answere immediately.

     

        Thomas Petite deposed att the request of Walter Smith,

      sayth tht about Michaelmas was twelvemonth he being att

      Goddy Langsfords plantaon, the sd Gooddy Langford told this

      dept tht in the plantaon there was a pott of Tarr, & if he

      needed he mought make use thereof. But this Dept affirmeth

      tht he neur saw eyther pott or Tar in the sd plantaon. & further

      he sayth not. or to whom the pott belongeth, he knoweth nott.

     

        Thomas Jackson att the request of Willm Wheately sayth

      uppon his oath, That speaking to Gou' Caluert this Dept sayd

      to the sd Mr Caluert seing the horses in the feud That this was

      Colcough's horse, to the Gouernor replyed saying Col

      coughs? It is none of Colcoughs but M' Thorneborough

      horse. And further he sayth not.

     

        Came Peter Makaill & acknowlecigeth himselfe to owe unto

      Jno Hollis Nine hundd thirty & & cask. of the demand of twelve

      hundd pownds of Tob:   The mrk + ME of

                               Peter Makaill
