A Conference
desired

Mr Carvile therevpon was sent to the vppr house,
to desire tht some of the members of this House,

may have Conference with some of the members of the mem-
bers of the vppr house Concerning the Last message in writeing
by Coll Darnall.

He returnes and sayes he has delivered his message
Major Sewall Comes with a message, wch being read is as
followeth viz'

therevnto

Upper house November the sixth 1683
The last verball message Of the Lower house p Mr
Carvile, desireing some of the members of this house

to Joyne in Conference with some of theires. This house Con-
ceive to Generall, and Desire the Lower house will render
themselves more particular by Informing this house what it is
they would Conferr about, before such time as this house Cann
appoynt any of their           rs to that purpose his Lop: being

now prsent in this house and pre           elude This Sessions

Then was Drawne the following Message vizt

Lower house of Assembly November the 6th 1683

The 5 bills
sent for
downe

This house desire the vppr house to send downe all
such bills as have been Assented to This Sessions by
both houses, That the Speaker may prsent them to

his Lopp as alwayes hath been the vse heretofore, And that
the Uppr house please to send Their Answere, to the bill last
night sent for provideing a building &c In the body whereof is
pposed the Leavying of 50000 ll of Tobacco this prsent yeare,
Till when this house Cannot perfect the bill for paying the
Publique Charge.
Signd p Ordr C Boteler Cler &c.

Which being read and Signd, was sent vp: by Mr Carvile &
Mr Richardsone Coll Stevens brings a message: wdl being
read is as followeth viz'

Uppr house November the 6th 1683 :
His Lop being moved by this house, to nominate
a place for the Court house &c Doth say and De-
clare that when a Conveniency shall be provided in

South River in An Arrundell County, Sufficient for reception
of his Lordsp and Councill and for holding of Assemblyes &
provinciall Courts [and the] severall and respective Offices,
thereon depending his Lop [will make] vse thereof for such
ends soe long as he shall see Convenient
