Ditto for the late Company of Capt William Campbell,
Walter Winter Captain, Richard Bennett Boarman 1st Lieuten-
ant Johnathan Thomas 2nd do and Nehemiah Gibbons Ensign.
Ditto for the late Company of Capt John H. Stone, George
Swann Capt John Gwinn 1st Lieutenant, Michael Stone 2d do.
and William Laman Ensign.
Mr James Farnandis who was first Lieutenant to Capt Robert
Sennetts Company, having entered into the regular service,
made a recommendation of officers necessary Tor that com-
pany, and the following Gentlemen are recommended to Wit,
John Muschett 1st Lieutenant, William McConkie 2d do. and
Samuel Stone Junr Ensign.
To fill up the vacancies in the Company lately Commanded
by Genl John Dent, Henry Ward Captain, George Dent, Ist
Lieutenant Thomas McCatie 2nd Do. and John Grant Ensign
were recommended by a majority of thirty two privates of the
said Company met for that purpose. The Committee think
proper to recommend to the Honble Council of Safety Capt
Thomas Hanson Marshall who lives in the hundred to which
the said Company belongs but is not one of that Company,
having enroled in a neighbouring one, of Militia, Henry Ward
who is as above recommended by the said Company for Capt
was chosen second Lieutenant by a former election and in the
Judgment and opinion of the Committee it would tend most
to the public service for the Honble Council of Safety to Com-
mission the said Thomas Hanson Marshall Captain for the said
Compy Geo Dent first Lieutenant, Henry Ward 2d do and John
Grant Ensign:
The Honble Council of Safety are requested to enquire of
Colo Wm Smallwood for a recommendation of officers for the
Company he Commanded.

Tuesday 27 February 17/6.
Council met. Present as yesterday.
Ordered, That Mr George Matthews and Captain Nathaniel
Smith be appointed to prove the Cannon to be furnished by
Messrs Samuel and Daniel Hughes for the use of the Province,
and that the Committee of Observation for the Middle District
of Frederick County deliver to Mr Matthews & Capt Smith or
either of them powder sufficient for that Purpose; The Order
of the 20th Instant to Captain Fulford being superseded by
Reason of his necessary Attendance to his Duty here.
