Ordered That Capt Hindman detach a Serjeant and 12
men to relieve the Guard at the Magazine in the Neighbour-
hood of Captain James Tootell.
Ordered that the Treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Richard Willis forty five Shillings.
That the said Treasurer pay to James Royston four pounds
ten Shillings and six Pence.
That the said Treasurer pay to Thomas Delahay three
Pounds fifteen Shillings.
That the said Treasurer pay to Captain James Hindman
One hundred Pounds continental Currency.
The Reverend John Scott having appeared before the
Council, agreeable to his Recognizance entered into before
George Plater and John Hall Esqre. in Somerset County ;
The Memorial of Josiah Polke Esqr of the County aforesaid
against the said John Scott, together with sundry Depositions
taken at the Request of each Party, were read, and the
Allegations of both of them heard; and thereupon the Council
taking the same into Consideration,
Ordered that the Revd John Scott repair to Kent County on
the Eastern Shore of this Colony and there remain until the
next Convention — and that he have Possession of the Sloop
Liberty purchased by him of Peter Hubbert for the purpose
of removing his Family and Effects, if he thinks proper.
And further Ordered that he appear at the next Convention
to be held at the City of Annapolis there to answer such
matters as may be objected against him, and that he give
Security in the Sum of five hundred Pounds Currency to pay
due Obedience to this Order: and further that he be permitted
to pass through Talbot County to take his Family from thence
and that he repair to Chester Town in eight Days from this
Time.
Copy of Letter No 78 was sent to the Deputies of this
Province in Congress, Copy of No 79 to Josias Beall Esqr
Copy of No 80 to John Hanson junior Esqr Copy of No 81 to
James Tilghman Esqr and Copy of No 82 to the Committee
of Observation for Baltimore County.
Ordered that the Treasurer of the Eastern Shore pay to
Col. William Richardson three hundred Pounds Currency to
be lodged with the Committee of Observation for Caroline
County for the Purchase of Arms & Blankets.
Adjourned till next Day 10 o'clock.
