It would be extremely serviceable to the public and agree-
able to us, that you would exert yourself all in yr power to
furnish this Province with what qtys you can, & send them
directly to this Place.

Dorset County 31st July 1776.
Sir. The conduct of Lieutenant Levi Willen and Ensign
Job Todd, both of Capt Lake's company of Militia, has of late
been such as gives great reason to suspect their principles are
unfriendly to American Liberty, and which I think renders
them unfit to hold their commissions. I therefore make this
representation of them to your Honourable Board that you
may take such order therein as you think necessary.

[N. Smith to Council.]

Original.

Gentlemen. There is a soldier belonging to Capt Bowie's
company (formerly Col Ewings) who deserted and was taken
up ten days ago and put into the prison in Baltimore. Collo
Ewing desired I would send his men to joyn their Company as
soon as I had an opportunity. I should be glad you would
let me know as soon as convenient wheather the sheriff must
be allowed what is common for taking up servants and the
Prison fees. You'll observe he is committed by the name of
Saml Johnson, his name is John Montgomery.
I shoud be glad to know who I am to apply to as Docter in
Mr Wesenthalls absence, if it would be agreable to you
wou'd apply to Doctr Coulter who I think the most skillfull in
this place and will do it as cheap as any one.
