Maryland Ss. Att a Councell held at St Maries Thursday the
twentith day of July in the first yeare of the Dominion of
Charles Lord Baltemore &c Annoq Dom. 1676.

Ordered that the Deputy Leivtenant appoint whom he shall
thinke fitt Out of the ffoot Souldiers in any Company to serve
as Troopers or on horsebacke, and what persons the said
Deputy Leivtenant thinke fitt to appoint Out of the horsemen
to serve on ffoot upon such Occasion as shall hereafter
require.
Ordered that Thomas Taylor Sheriff of Dorchester County
Robert Winsmore Wm fford Wm Dorrington & Daniel Clarke
of the same County Gent be sent for to attend the Deputy
Govrnor and Councell this day fortnight being the third day of
August next wheresoever they shall then be.
Ordered that Major Wm Boreman give notice to the Over-
seers of Charles County & St Maries County that imediately
they cause the passage Over Zachaija Swamp to be made
passable both for horse and ffoot, and that the Comissioners
of the same Countyes, see that the same passage be yearly
repaired and amended as Occasion, shall from time to time
require

Ordered that Major John Douglas doe take into his Cus-
tody all the unfixt Armes now in the possession of Philip
Lynes of Portobacco or others in the same County by colour
or ptence of plunder purchased at the Susquehanough ffort
and then to cause to be fixed and afterwards to see them
secured for his Lopps use.
And it is further Ordered that the Severall Collonels in the
Severall & respective Countyes doe take into their Custody
all Gunns belonging to the publique that are or have been
