my respects & Service wch I had not before the Oppertunity to
Offer, but hope this paper may finde a greater ffreedom, The
world is amazed at yr misfortunes and divers Enquire of me

the cause of it, hut I am able to resolve them nuthing though

I wish I knew better for my owne Satisfaction, wch I humbly
begg your honr if it be not Impertinent, In the meane time I
doe dayly wish & pray for your Enlargment, or if that cannot
be, at least for a more comfortable Confinemt then that hole,
& Aer, wch if you stay hott weather I feare
would much prejudice your health If I can any wayes serve
your Honr I beseech you be pleased to lett me receive your
Comands by this bearer & you will highly oblidge

Then was read the Journall & Report of the Comittee
thereupon as follows Vizt

Saturday September the 23th 1693.
The Comittee mett againe at the place afd all the Members
being prsent
Then was read what was done yesterday.
Capt Whittington is sent for Coll Jowles.
Capt Whittington returnes with Coll Jowles.
The Comittee proceeds to read the Complaint of Coll
Jowles who likewise appeares before them And Capt Bigger
came likewise whoe informed this Comittee that some time in
the Month of September by vertue of an Ordr of Councill of a
former date he did take Bond of the said Coll Jowles to
answer at the next Provinciall Court to what should be
Objected agt him in Generall termes wlhout any particular
Crimes alleadged, And he beleives the bond to be taken
according to the said Tennor of Ordr of Councill, And
for further Satisfaction to the Comittee they sent Capt Whit-
tington for Mr Lewellin, Capt Whittington returnes wth Mr
LLewellin.
Who being Likewise Examined acquaints the Comittee that
by vertue of an Ordr of Councill he did Take bond of Coll
Jowles as is in the first part of the peticon mentioned, that he
does not know of any other particular cause then the said
Lett' of which he beleives this to be a True Coppy that the
Tenor of the said Bond was to be of his good behaviour &
answerable when Required.
The Sence of this Comittee is that the first Bond not shew,
ing what he was bound for, nor when nor where to appearej
