     Mr Philip Came Mr Philip Clarke late Navll Officer of Lib. H. D.

     Clarke delivers vp vpon Potomock District and delivered upon Oath thirty

    

     Oath 33: Cer- three Certificates for Ships, Saying, that what

     tiflcates for     

     Ships &c. Bonds he had in his possession he deliver d them

              up to Mr Plater and tht if he had any more Cer

     tificates or other papers by him Respecting his sd Office he

     would bring them up next Court.

       The honrble Thomas Tench Esq Coll: John Addison and

     Thomas Brooke Esq being appointed to go with Seaven of

     the Members of the House of Delegates upon the Indian

     Treaty have their Message deliverd to them and take leave

     accordingly.

    

     Col Green- Vpon Motion of the honrble Coll: Nicho Green-

     berry Excused

     from Execut- berry in Relation to an Ordr of his Exacy and

     ing the late Councill Dated the 28th of May last past (directed

     Ordr directed

     to the Colonels to the Coll: of each County) that he might be

     Dated 28th of Excused from the Execution thereof, Saying that

     May past. he should not be in the Countrey.

    

       A Copy of the sd Ordr deliver'd to the sd Coll: Greenberry

     was indorsed as followes.

    

    

    

       By his Exncy the Governr & Councill &ca June the 4th 1697.

    

       Lieutent Coll: Ridgley is hereby directed and Ordered to

     Execute the purport of the within Ordr

          Signed p Ordr Hen: Denton Cl Concil

     Reference to    Ordered that it be Referred to the Kings Law

     the Kings Lawyers abt    yers whether the Provinciall Court may legally be

     calling a Provll Court sooner than called by an Ordr of his Exncy and Councill or by

     a New Commission to be appointed Soonr than

     the Adjournmt the Adjournmt made, there being found a Neces

     sity for having one Sooner by reason of so many Actions

     depending and New ones Commenced. And that they make

     Report thereof accordingly to this Board with all Speed.

    

          The Same Came Reported as followes, Vizt

     May it please yor Exncy

     Kings Lawyers Report vpon the above I am of Opinion that if the Provll Court must be

              sooner than the time to which it is now Adjourn'd

     Reference it may be done by Proclamation Setting forth

     some Reasons therefore in the sd Proclamation.
