The Treaty made with the Susquehannah, Dellaware and
Shavanole Indians by James Frisby Esqr Col John Thompson
and Capt Edward Blay, Ordered to be laid before the house
which was sent by Mr James Frisby and Colo Francis Jenkins
Came Major William Dent and Mr Philemon Lloyd who
bring three ingrossed Bills viz

A Bill Investing a Tract of Land in Dorothy Stephens sold
her by Simon Wilmer
A Bill for selling one hundred Acres of Land in the Vestry

of St James's Parish in Ann Arundel County given by Mr
James Rigby & Elizab : his Wife
A Bill for the Naturalization of Peter Scamper and others
which were again read and Assented to by this Board and sent
to the house by Colo John Hamond and Colo Francis Jenkins

The Board adjourned till 8 of the Clock tomorrow morning

Saturday May 17th 1701

The Councill Sate present as Yesterday
The Petition of Edward Laddamore of Cecill County Praying
that an Act might be passed for the divorcment of him the
said Edward Laddamore & Elizabeth his Wife and declaring
the Children of her the said Elizabeth Begotten during her
Elopement to be illegitimate was here read and sent to the
house with a proposed Bill upon that Subject
Came Mr Samuel Young and 5 other Members & bring up
the Ingrossed Bill for the more Speedy obteining Executions
agt Persons flying out of the Countys where Judgmts are re-
covered against them, which was read and assented to
A Bill for laying an Impost of 3d p hhd on Tobbacco for
defraying the Publick Charge of the Province read and will
pass with these Amendments Viz.

That the Duty to be raised and paid be to his Maty and be
appropriated to the defraying the Publick Charge of the
Province.
Also a proposed Ordinance for an house to be built for the
Powder 15 foot long and ten foot wide which this Board think
will not be large Enough, so that there will not be Room to
turne the Powder therefore recomended the said house be
20 foot long & 15 foot Wide.
Which Said Ordinance and Bills with the remarks &c were
sent to the house by James Frisby Esqr and Colo Francis
Jenkins
