Wanteing Coll Henry Low, George Muschamp Esqre Ken :
Cheseldyn John Baker, Mr Laurence Draper, Mr Benjamen
Hall, Coll Thos Smithson, Mr Richard Tilghman, Col St Leid-
ger Codd, Mr Thos Smith, Mr John Hinson, Mr Walter Smith,
Mr Elisha Hall, Mr Thomas Ennalls, Mr Jacob Lockerman,
Mr Hugh Eccleston, Coll William Whittington, Mr John
Francklyn, Mr William Hutchinson.
The house being mett were called over, and finding Coll
Thomas Smithson Speaker of this Court absent, and this
house being informed, that the said Collonell Smithson is
indisposed and not capable of attending this house; thereupon
ordered yr Mr William Dent, Philemon Loyd, and Major
Charles Greenberry, attend his Excellency and Councill to
acquaint them the house is mett according to Prorogation,
But Mr Speaker attended not.
They Returne and Say that his Excellency was pleased to
order them to acquaint the house that they may proceed to
Election of another Speaker in the Roome of Coll Smithson
soe that the house may proceed to business.
The Members now proceed to Election of a Speaker, and
by generall Vote Nemine contradicente, the house made
choice of Major Wm Dent to be theire Speaker, and placed
him in the chaire accordingly
Ordered that Mr Philemon Loyd and Majr Charles Green-
berry attend his Excellency to acquaint him that the house
haue made choice of theire Speaker, and that they with the
house are ready to attend his Excellency, when he please to
comand them.
They returne and Say they Delivered theire Message, and
likewise acquainted Mr Speaker that his Excellency requires
theire immediate attendance att the Councill.

Whereupon Mr Speaker and the Rest of the members of
this house went up to his. Excellency and Councill where they
