    Pursuant to the resolution of this Board yesterday the writ

   of prorogation reciting the writt of election and directed to

   the high Sheriff of Ann Arundell County was publickly read

   in the Council Chamber in the presence of Colo William Hol

   land Colo Samuel Young and James Bowles Esqr members of

   the upper house and of Thomas Humphreys and Daniel Du

   lany Esqrs and Thomas Bordley and Iohn Beale Esqrs members

   of the Lower house of Assembly

     Which writt follows in haec Verba vizt

     Charles Absolute Lord and Proprietary of the Provinces of    p. 45

   Maryland and Avalon Lord Baron of Baltimore &c to our

   trusty and well Beloved the members of our upper and Lower

   houses of Assembly Greeting Whereas by our writs of elec

   tion bearing date the 22d day of April last we Commanded

   Authorized and Impowered the Sheriffs of our several and

   respective Counties within this province upon Receipt of the

   same writs to call together three or more Justices of the re

   spective Counties one to be of the Quorum with the Clerk

   of the County Court who were by those Writts required to

   sit as a Court and during their sitting the said Sheriffs by

   virtue of their Office to make or Cause to be made publick

   proclamation thereby Giving notice to the Freemen of the

   several Counties who had within such Counties freeholds of

   fifty Acres of Land or were residents and had visible estates

   to the Value of Forty pounds Sterling at the least thereby

   requiring them to appear at the several Court Houses at Cer

   tain days not less then ten days after such proclamation made

   for and choosing deputies and delegates to serve for

   the said Several Counties in a General Assembly to be holden

   at Annapolis the third Tuesday of July Instant and that in

   Obedience to the same writs the Freemen of this provs have

   accordingly elected and chosen their several Delegates and

   Representatives but because there are no Emergent Affairs

   to be laid before the General Assembly that render the

   meeting thereof absolutely necessary at the time mentioned
