Certificates of the Kind you mention we hope you will be able to
transact the Business agreeable to the Form we delivered you. We
do not think it would be proper to make any further Purchases at a
higher Price than you have already given

[Council to Mr. Thomas Maccubbin] :
Sir Enclosed is an Order on the Collector for £500 to be expended
in those Purposes not provided by the Law and necessary for the
Execution of it

Monday 27 March 1780
Present as on Saturday.
Ordered That the western shore Treasurer pay to Capt. John
Green three hundred and forty eight Pounds fifteen shillings and ten
Pence due him p Acct. passed by the Depy Aud.
That the said Treasurer pay to the said John Green thirteen Pounds
due him p Account passed by the Depy Aud.
That the said Treasurer pay to Lieut. James Bruff of the 6th
Regimt five thousand Dollars to be expended in the Recruiting Serv-
ice & Accounted for.
That the Collector of the Tax for Baltimore County pay to Capt.
John Smith of the 3d Regimt three thousand Dollars to be by him
expended in the Recruiting Service & Accounted for.
That Capt. George Keeports deliver to Ens. John Smoot of the
1st Brigade 3 J yds. Cloth 3 yds shalloon & 1 piece of Brittanies of
the 3d Quality in part of the Articles &ca
That Capt. Geo. Keeports deliver to Lieut James Bruff of the
6 Regimt Cloth sufft for a Waistcoat & Breeches with Trimmings for
a Suit of Cloattfs and 1 pr Brittanies of the 2d Quality in part of the
Articles alld by the Genl Assembly.
That the Commissary of Stores deliver to Ens. John Smoot of
ist Brigade 3 yds Linen for Lining and 2 pr Stockings in part of the
Articles &ca
That the western shore Treasurer pay to John Crisall five hundred
Pounds on Account
That the said Treasurer pay to Aquila Paca Esqr Twenty thou-
sand Pounds to be delivered over to Richard Dallam Esqr on Account.
Mr Robert Berry agrees to take Charge of the Boat Plater &ca
and to continue in her for six Months from this Day upon the follow-
ing Terms. Mr Berry is to be paid £200 p Month and allowed 5
Gallons of Rum, half of a pound of Bohea Tea, six Pounds of Coffee
& ten Pounds of Brown Sugar for the use of himself and Hands a
Month Mr Berry thinks four Men and a Boy will be sufficient to
work & manage the Boat.
