[Council to Delegates in Congress]

We have the Honor to enclose a Return of the Number of In-
habitants of this State, taken we believe very accurately, under a
Law appointing Persons on Oath to do it. You will observe that
this Return contains the Number of Souls, of all Ages and Descrip-
tions.

Saturday 19th October 1782

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Samuel Thomas 3d
four pounds, three shillings and eleven pence specie agreeable to the
Act to adjust the Debts due from this State per Account passed the
15th Instant.
That the said Treasurer pay to Rezin Hammond thirty nine

pounds eight shillings & four pence species agreeable to the Act afore-
said due on a Certificate issued by Edwd Gaither Junr Commy to
Denton Hammond deceased & adjusted 18th Inst.
That the said Treasurer pay to Rezin Hammond, three pounds,
seven shillings & six pence agreeable to the Act aforesaid due on Certs
issued by Lancelot Warfield to Denton Hammond & Rachel Ham-
mond adjusted & passed.

Monday 21. October 1782

From the peculiar circumstances of Benjamin Wilson a soldier
who was discharged from the Invalid Regiment the 15th September
1782 who formerly belonged to Colo Hazens Regiment and Hugh
MoCoy of the German Regiment discharged from the Invalid Regi-
ment the 15th Septr 1782 and were Citizens of this State it being
impossible for them to obtain Certificates required by Law. The
Board are of opinion that the Commissioner for settling and ad-
justing the Accounts of the Troops &ca ought to grant them Certif-
icates for their Depreciation to August 1780, taking their own
Oaths; there being no other way of ascertaining it, for the Time
when they enlisted. —

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Francis Belmore
thirty nine pounds, eight shillings and six pence half penny Specie
agreeable to the Act to adjust the Debts due from this State due
him per Certificate adjusted. —
