322 Assembly Proceedings, May 24-Jwne 22, 1768.

U. H. J. That, of the Bills drawn by the late Commissioners, there were
Llbef June22 tlien unPaid four Bills amounting to £683,,i2,,3., which had not been
presented, that all the Bills remitted by the said Commissioners have,
since last Session, been received and passed to the Credit of the
Province, except One Bill of £250 which was Protested, and which
the Commissioners for the Payment of the Public Claims have re-
ceived, and remitted to the Trustees in London, amounting with
Damages to £287,,19,,6.

Your Committee have Examined the State of the Iron Chests and
find the Accounts stand as follows Viz.t

Your Committee further Report, that the amount of the Journal,
and List of Debts, as they passed last Session was 5623499 3/4 Pounds
of Tobacco, and £19,840,,1,,2 1/4, That the Commissioners have dis-
covered Sundry Errors therein, by wrong Additions, which we have
carefully examined, and find the true Debt against the Province on
the Journal and List of Debts to be 5841083 3/4 Pounds of Tobacco,
and £19998,,0,,0 1/2 which amounts to 150,679 Dollars, and two fifths
of a Dollar

p. 407 Your Committee have spent some time in Examining the Ac-
counts, and Proceedings of the Commissioners, and find that they
have paid to Sundry Claimants Bills of Credit, to the amount of
145,808 Dollars, the Accounts of which we have Examined up to
the 5th March 1767, when the sum of 98511 Dollars and One half
Dollar and two Ninths of a Dollar was paid away, and proper
Vouchers and Receipts appear therefor, and the Books appear to
