Present as on Saturday and Cha..s Goldsborough Esq.r

Mess..rs Sullivane and Lecompt attend with Col.o John Henry a
Member Elected for Dorchester County to see him Qualified who
takes the Oaths to the Government appointed to be taken by Act of
Assembly repeats and Subscribes the Abjuration and Test and then
withdraws.

Benjamin Tasker Esq.r attended by the Members of this House
presents to his Excellency their Address, which follows in these
Words

To His Excellency Horatio Sharpe Esq..r Governor and Commander
in Chief in and over the Province of Maryland

The humble Address of the Upper House of Assembly
May it please your Excellency.
His Majestys faithful and Loyal Subjects the Upper House of

Assembly beg your Excellency's Acceptance of Our Thanks for your

Speech at the opening of this Session, Your Convening the As-
sembly at this time upon a Supposition that it would be more Con-
venient for the Members in General to meet now than later in the
Year is very Obliging, we shall for Our part readily Embrace the
Opportunity afforded us of giving a longer Duration to any tem-
porary Laws that have been found useful and framing such others
as the present Circumstances of the Country require and We assure
you that it is Our Earnest Desire and will be Our Constant En-
deavour to preserve the Tranquillity and Promote the Welfare of
this Province
