truth in the prmisses upon their Oathes doe say that the said Randall
Revell did assume & promise in manner & forme as is above against
him declared And they assesse the damage of the said Richard Covell
to three thousand pdts of tobacco Therefore itt is considered by the
Court here that the said Richard Covell recover against the said
Randall Revell as well the aforesaid sume of Three Thousand pounds
of tobacco damages by the Jurors aforesaid in forme aforesaid as-
sessed As also One thousand forty Eight pounds of tobacco costs
of suite And the Defendt in mercy

Henry Johnson late of Baltemore County was At-
tached to answer unto James Mills of a plea where-
fore with force & armes att the plantacon of him
the said James in the County aforesaid one Brigan-


tine of the proper Goods & Chattels of the said James he did take
& carry away & other harmes to him did &c contrary to the peace &c
And whereupon the said James by Robert Carvile his Attorney
saith, that whereas the said Henry upon or about the fourteenth day
of ffebruary in the yeare of our Lord One thousand six hundred
seventy & seven the said Henry with force & Armes that is to say
with swords & staves the Close of him the said James att his planta-
con att Goldsbury his rest in the County aforesaid did breake & one
Brigantine of the proper Goods and Chattels of him the said James

of the Value of twelve thousand pounds of tobacco he tooke & car-

ryed away & the same from him as yet doth detaine & other harmes
to him did to the great damage of the said James & against the peace
of the Lord Propry whereupon he saith he is damnified & hath losse
to the Value of Twenty Thousand pounds of tobacco & thereupon
he bringeth his suite
And the aforesaid Henry Johnson by Robert Ridgely his Attorney
cometh & defendeth the force & injury when &c and prayeth liberty
to imparle hereunto untill next Provinciall Court & itt is granted
unto him, the same day is given to the plaintiffe also.

Now here att this day to witt the twelfth day of Octobr In the
third yeare of the Dominion of Charles Lord Baltemore &c Annoq
Doni One thousand six hundred seventy eight came the said partyes
by their Attorneyes aforesaid And the said Henry by his said Attor-
ney saith, that as to the trespas above by the said James imposed
upon him he is in nothing thereof guilty in manner & forme as the
