[p. 261] Friday 6th. September 1793

The Council met.
Present Mr Brice

Mr Kilty

Mr Davidson

Ordered that the western shore Treasurer pay to Abraham Gambell an Invalid Pensioner
in Dorchester County Two pounds, five shillings for the deficiency of three months half pay
due the 1st August last.

Wednesday 11th. September 1793

The Council met.
Present Mr Brice

Mr Kilty

Mr Ridgely

Mr Davidson

Rinaldo Johnson appointed one of the [Justices of the] Orphans Court of Prince
Georges County in place of Richard Duckett resigned, and

Commission issued to John Smith Brookes, Robert Bowie and Rinaldo Johnson Justices
of the said Court.

On the representation of William Jenkins of Prince Georges County, stating that he is
indebted to the State on bond with Francis Jenkins [p. 262] and Edward Jenkins
Security, in the sum of Fifty six pounds, five shillings Sterling, that not being able to write
or read, he was ignorant of the limitation fixed by this Board for the installing of public
debt, and of course failed to install this debt aforesaid, and begs to be now permitted to install
the same with such fresh Security as may be deemed satisfactory.

Resolved that the Agent of the State, be and he hereby is instructed that it is the desire
of this Board, that the said William Jenkins be permitted to install his aforesaid debt upon
the usual terms, upon giving such security as the Agent shall think satisfactory.

Thursday 12th. September 1793

In Consequence of Communications received from Baltimore town the following Proc-
lamation issued:

Whereas it appears by the representation of a number of respectable inhabitants of
Baltimore town, accompanied by a report from several eminent Physicians of the said town
