Septem. 1642.
An Act for an Expedition against the Indians.  OBS.
Ditto. An Act providing some things for the better Safety of the Colony.  EXP.
    N. B. All the LAWS of this Session (except ch. 54, for the Indian Expedition) were made to
        endure for 3 Years from the present Day:  So that they expired on the 13th September 1645.

A Proclamation was issued the 16th December 1642, for a General Assembly of the Freemen to
    meet at St. Mary's on the 3d February ensuing.  But by another Proclamation of the 1st February
    1642, the Assembly was dismissed, and all Men discharged of their Attendance on the Day appointed.

A Proclamation issued the 28th March 1643, for the Freemen to be at a General Assembly at
    St. Mary's on the 3d April following.  But it does not appear, by any Record, whether they
    met accordingly, or what their Proceedings (if any) were.
1644.
 
 
 
 
A Proclamation issued the 16th November 1644, for holding a General Assembly, and summoning
    all Freemen inhabiting within this Province to be at the said Assembly, either by themselves,
    or their Proxies or Burgesses, to consult and advise, &c. at  St. Mary's, on Tuesday the 3d December
    following.  The Secretary was authorized (in case of the Governor's Absence at St. Mary's
    on the said 3d of December) to prorogue it to such further Day as he should think fit.  But
    no Record appears of their Meeting, Proceedings, or Prorogation, in pursuance of the
   abovementioned Authority.
At a GENERAL ASSEMBLY, holden at St. Mary's
    the 11th Day of February 1644, was Enacted the
    following Law.
The Hon. LEONARD CALVERT, Esq; Governor.
CHAP. I.
An Act for the Defence of the Province.  EXP.
    N.B. This Act was to enable the Governor, for one Year only, to establish and support a
Garrison at Piscattaway, &cAnd the Charge of the late Expedition to Kent to be discharged out
of the Levy granted by this Act, &c.
1646. At a GENERAL ASSEMBLY held at St. Inegoe's
    Fort, the 29th December 1646, and ended the 2d
    Day of January following.
The Hon. LEONARD CALVERT, Esq; Governor.
CHAP. I.
Passed 2d of
Jan. 1646.
An Act for Customs.  REP. by 1661, ch. 6.
CHAP. II.
Ditto. An Act touching Judicature.
    Confirmed among the perpetual Laws by 1676, ch. 2, and at length REP. 1678, ch. 16.
    N.B. The Act of 1650, ch. 6, takes Notice of the Sheriffs Fees set down and expressed in
an Act of Assembly made at St. Inegoe's Fort the 2d January 1646, then remaining upon Record
with the Secretary, and confirms the same 'til a further settlement therein.
    And no other Traces of the Acts or Proceedings of this Session appear upon Record that I
        could discover.
