JOINT RESOLUTION.
By Mr. Williams, of Harford,
Joint Resolution to protect the interest of the State of
Maryland in respect of the stock held by it in the Wash-
ington Branch of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Com-
pany.
Whereas, under the Act of Assembly of Maryland of
1832, chapter 175, the State of Maryland became a sub-
scriber to five thousand shares (equal at the par value to
$500,000), of that part of the stock of the Baltimore and
Ohio Railroad Company, which was subscribed for and
issued for the construction of what is known as the
"Washington Branch” of said railroad; and thereafter, in
