Dorchester county shall be and are hereby directed and empowered, at their levy court annually, so
long as they shall see cause, to assess and levy on the assessble property of said county, a sum of
money, not exceeding thirty dollars, for the support and maintenance of the said Esther Kenner, and
that the same be collected and paid annually by the collector of Dorchester county to such person as the levy court of said county shall or may direct.

                                                          CHAP. II.

of Philemon Brooke.  Lib. JG. No. 3. fol. 245.
WHEREAS Philemon Brooke, of Dorchester county, by his petition to this general assembly hath set forth, that he is far advanced in life, having had the misfortune to lose his eye-sight
when very young, and has no other dependence whereby to subsist but on the benevolence of his
friends, and prays an act may pass to provide for his future maintenance out of the poor-house; and
the facts stated in said petition appearing to be true, therefore,

II. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the justices of Dorchester county
