Articles of Agreement this 18th: day of November Annog Dom: 1689 Betweene Ambrose Londun
gentl: in Anemessick in the Province of Maryland in the County of Sommersett of the one party
Joseph Mason Cooper of the Same County above named Whereas Sometime Joseph Mason
had Bought a Seate of Land of the Said London & keapt it tree years in his hand and Noe
Condicon being performed Josef Mason hate agride with London to pay him the rent
of the Land and London to take his Land agin and gives Josef Taylor for Securitie to pay London
his rint and to Lands Land alinated to London agin as it was before Josef Mason had
any thing to doe with it as witnes or: hands & Seales Joseph Tayler Seale

Whereas Joseph Masson formerly did Buy to pisses of Land of Mager Ambros London The
one Parsell Cald by the name of Jelicoe the other Cald by the name of Black ridge. this
Land Lieing in the point of Land that devides anamesicks & Manoakin the
land and or Shid that was first inhabited by the Said London for the last payment for
this Land wch: is tree thousand pounds of good Sound Marchandable Tumbaco in a Caske
without ground Leaves or trsh to be paid at Some Convenient place in Manoakin Anamesick
or Pokeomock to be paid at tree thistinkes payments the first thousand to be paid in the
year one Sousaeand Six hundred ethty to the Seacond thousand to be paid in the year 1683
the tird and the last thousand to be paid in the year 1684 and for the true performance
of thise tree payments of this tree touseands pounds of tambaco for this Land above
minsined this tumbaco is to be paid at or oupon the tent day of november of each
year above minsined whereas formerly Joshef Masson had given Security for the
payment of this tumbaco above minsined and his Securietie the
to be releast hie have releast his Securitie and bound over his land that Same to
pisies of land above Minsined which hie boght of the aforesaid London and this
is the Condison of hainding over of this Land to Mager Ambros London his haires
exsecitors administrators or asaines by me Joseph Mason that if I doe not pay or Case
to be paid this tumbaco above minsined every year according to the according to the turme
and performans of the first pay payment which will be as above Minsined or other of
the other to Shall be anabsolved forfit upon those to piseis of Land above Minsined and
Josph Masson doe binde my Selfe my eaires execkitors administerators or asaines to deliver
up the patints that I have in my Custody and all my right and titeill that I have in that
Land above Minsined to Mager Ambros London his hears execkitors administerators
or asaines for ever perpetuall for ever to ingogy as thaire one proper Land witnes my hand

Gentlemen I have recd: Severall letters from yo: County of Some Considerable obstructions of y Civill
government Constituted by the late Convention of the assemblys under King William
occasioned principally as I understand by mr: Whittington; I know not what pretence he
has for Soe great a faylure and neglect of his duty wch I understand he has a Sufficient Insite
of upon Sight of the late ordinance, of his Majesties Interest Suffers here by his meanes
or yor: neglect by not takeing notice of itt all men know who will will be accountable
(wch ) I doe assure you is the onely County yt hath been Soe prejudiciall toward a generall
Su if Whittington refuses after fair Summons from the Court you must put
in one of the Commrs: you Shall Judge most Convenient as the Lawes requires in
such Cases if the Sd: Whittington or any other act or Say a--------ing anything against the
