On September 8, 1924, Dr. George Heller was nominated by the Demo-
cratic State Central Committee as the Democratic Candidate from the
Third Congressional District of Maryland for Representative in the
69th Congress, On October 8, 1924, John R. M. Staum was nominated by the Republi-
can State Central Committee as the Republican Candidate from the
Fourth Congressional District of Maryland for Representative in the
69th Congress. On October II, 1924, Hon. Sydney E. Mudd died, creating a vacancy
in the 68th Congress from the 5th Congressional District of Maryland. On October 15, 1924, Charles E. Chance declined the nomination for
Representative in the 69th Congress from the 5th Congressional District
of Maryland. On October 16, 1924, the Democratic State Central Committee nomi-
nated Stephen W. Gambrill for Representative in the 68th Congress (to
fill vacancy) and for Representative in the 69th Congress from the 5th
Congressional District of Maryland. On October 16, 1924, the Republican State Central Committee nomi-
nated Thomas B. R. Mudd to fill vacancy in the 68th Congress and for
Representative in the 69th Congress from the 5th Congressional District
of Maryland. All other candidates not nominated in the Primary Election were
nominated by Convention or Petition as required by the Maryland Law.
