coal, 842,427 short tons, value, $3,188,000; clays, 660,781 short tons,
value, $944,000; natural gas, 5,400 million cubic feet, value, $1,500,-
000; miscellaneous, value, $21,416,000.

Baltimore Port—In 1960 the port handled 18,001,211 long tons of
imports and 4,397,188 long tons of exports. In total tonnage, Balti-
more ranked as the second port in the country. Chief imports were
ores, fertilizers, sugar and gypsum; chief exports were grain, coal
and metal products.
