MARY L. NOCK, Democrat, Wicomico County; born in Green Hill.
Attended Wicomico County public schools; graduate of Beacom Busi-
ness College, Wilmington, Delaware. Housewife. Board member, and
Secretary-Treasurer, S.R.E.B. Married. Member of the House of Dele-
gates, 1947-55. Member of the Senate since 1955. Member of the
Legislative Council, 1953-54. Chairman of the Education Committee
since 1959. Member of the Legislative Council since 1959.

JOHN-CLARENCE NORTH, Democrat, Talbot County; born in
Tilghman, August 25, 1922. Attended Easton public schools; Uni-
versity of Baltimore, LL.B., 1947. Member of the Maryland Bar.
Served in the U. S. Navy during World War II Member, American,
Maryland, and Talbot County Bar Associations; Odd Fellows; Elks;
Knights of Pythias; American Legion; V.F.W.; Masons; Moose;

HARRY T. PHOEBUS, Republican, Somerset County; born in Oriole,
February 24, 1893. Attended Oriole public schools. Automobile dealer
and real estate broker. County Commissioner, Somerset County,
1921-25. County Treasurer, Somerset County, 1925. Commissioner of
Labor and Statistics, 1937. Married. Member of the House of Delegates,
1917-21. Member of the Senate, 1935-37, and since 1947. Minority
Leader, 1955-63 Sessions.

JAMES A. PINE, Democrat, Baltimore County; born in Princeton,
W. Va., August 12, 1912. Attended West Virginia public schools;
West Virginia University, B.S., 1938; Washington and Lee University;
University of Maryland Law School, LL.B., 1944. Admitted to the
Maryland Bar, 1944. Counsel, Baltimore County Board of County
Commissioners, 1950-51; Solicitor, Baltimore County, 1951-53. Trustee,
Calvary Baptist Church, Towson. Member, Elks; Lions; Masons;
Moose; Shrine. Married. Member of the Senate since 1959. Chairman,
Executive Nominations Committee, 1961 Session. Chairman, Finance
Committee, 1962 Session. Chairman, Intergovernmental Cooperation

J. FRANK RALEY, JR., Democrat, St. Mary's County; born in
Park Hall, September 13, 1926. Attended St, Mary's County parochial
schools; Charlotte Hall Military Academy; Georgetown University.
General insurance agent. Served with the U. S. Army, 1945-46. Former
member, Maryland Economic Development Commission. Past presi-
