p. 143 Under the Governor's Committee for the Regulation and Study
of Migratory Labor in Maryland, line 8 should read: the Com-
missioner of the Division of Labor and Industry and the
Executive Director of the Employment Security Administration.
p. 165 Under the Board of Ethics, add the following member: Natalie
R. Zimmerman, 1975. The Board now consists of nine members
instead of eight.
p. 172 Under Advisory Board for Correction, Parole and Probation,
read Caswell J. Caplan, 1972. Mr. Caplan has replaced Jonas R.
p. 196 Under the description of the Commissioner of Small Loans,
add the following:
During the 1971 Session, the General Assembly strengthened
the Commissioner's power to protect the consumer under the
Retail Credit Accounts Law. Acting upon a written complaint,
the Commissioner may, after a formal hearing, order a seller
to cease and desist from. practices in violation of the Retail
Credit Accounts Law.
Other consumer credit protection measures enacted by the
General Assembly in 1971 include the clarification of the com-
putation of service charges on revolving charge accounts under
the Retail Credit Accounts Law, the strengthening on the dis-
closure requirements for the benefit of the buyer in the estab-
lishment of a retail credit account, and the extension of the
criminal penalties of the Consumer Loan Law to include un-
licensed lenders.
The Agency with the approval of the Secretary has estab-
lished a complaint and investigation section to handle com-
plaints and answer inquiries from Maryland citizens.
p. 216 Under the Division of Economic Development, the fourth line
of the description of the General Administration Office should
read the Economic Development Advisory Commission.
p. 219 Under Maryland Arts Council, read Mrs. Donald E. Leather-
man, 1973, instead of Vacancy.
p. 222 Under Maryland Industrial Development Financing Authority,
read Lloyd S. Mailman, 1976, in place of Herbert L. Langrall,
p. 237 Under the Public Defender System, change the location to the
8th Floor of the Equitable Building, Baltimore. The telephone
numbers for the system are 383-4691 and 685-0282. The system
has a total staff of 120 members with appropriations for the
1972 Fiscal Year .of $1,125,000.
The following have been appointed District Public Defenders.
For a description of the districts served by each, see the
District Court of Maryland as the District Public Defenders
represent the same districts as the District Court Judges.
