Leave was granted to the Senators from Harford, Dor-
chester and Howard counties to introduce a bill to repeal all
laws now in force whereby the corporate stock or property
of any Railroad Company incorporated by the General Assem-
bly of this State, is exempted from taxation, and to provide
for the valuation, assessment and taxation, of such corporate
stock or property in future.

On motion by Mr. Hyland,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
report a bill to incorporate the Peninsular Railroad Company
of the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates, delivered the follow-
ing bills:

A bill entitled an Act to add an additional section to Arti-
cle 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "City of
Baltimore," sub-title "Police," and be section 827 of said
Article.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Senators
from Baltimore city.

A bill entitled an Act to authorize the Frederick and Penn-
sylvania Line Railroad Company to build a railroad from
Frederick city, the terminus of the road, to Washington
city.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Internal Improvements.

A bill entitled an Act to provide for the protection of sheep
in Queen Anne's, Dorchester and Somerset counties, and for
reimbursing owners of sheep for damages sustained by them
in the killing or injuring of sheep by dogs.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Senators
from Queen Anne's, Dorchester and Somerset counties.

And returned the following Senate Joint Resolutions,
endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays :"

Joint Resolutions directing the Comptroller to settle and
adjust the claims of the State against Wm. G. Burke, late
Sheriff of Harford county.

Joint Resolutions returning thanks of the General Assem-
bly to Hon. R. B. Roosevelt, for the able and instructive
address delivered before the Joint Assembly of the two Houses
of the General Assembly on the 16th March inst.

Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to whom the
leave was granted, reported unfavorably,
