The bill, as amended, was then read a second time, and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the
day,
The House proceeded to the consideration of the hill, enti-
tle! an Act' to repeal section 2 of Article LXIV. of the Code
of Public General Laws, relating to mortgages, and to re-enact the same with amendments.
The question recurring upon the amendment submitted by
Mr. Bowie, to the amendment submitted by Mr. Banks, on
the 25th instant:
"Provided, That nothing in this Act shall apply to Balti-
more and Prince George's counties,"
Fending which,
Mr. Bowie moved that the further consideration thereof be
postponed, and the hi 1 made the order of the day for Tues-
day next, the 6th of February,
Pending which,
Mr. Bowie moved that the House do now take a recess
until 5 o'clock this P. M., decided in the negative.
Mr. Streett moved that the House do now adjourn.
The question recurring upon concurring the motion,
On motion of Mr. Banks,
