MARYLAND, Sc.

At a Session of the General Assembly of Maryland, begun
    and held at the City of Annapolis, on Monday, the 7th
    of November, and ended the 25th day of December, in
    the year of our Lord 1808,

    THE FOLLOWING LAWS WERE ENACTED, TO WIT:


CHAP. 1.

Passed Dec. 20.

                                      CHAPTER I.
An Act to settle and ascertain the Salary of the Members of the Council
                    for the ensuing year.  Lib. TH. No. 2, fol. 1.
Salary ascertained.    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
each member of the council shall be entitled to receive, for the ensuing
year, the sum of two hundred pounds current money for his
salary.

                                       CHAP. II.
An Act to make public a Road in Prince-George's County. Lib. TH.
                                    No. 2, fol. 1.

                                        A Supplement 1813, ch. 65.

Road declared
public.
    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
the road in Prince-George's county leading out of the main north
and south road from Piscataway to its junction with the road leading
to Fort Warburton, on Potomac river, from the main road from
George-town to Piscataway, at Slash Creek, be and the same is
hereby declared, deemed and taken to be, a public road for ever,
and shall hereafter be kept up and repaired as other public roads
are in said county.

                                        CHAP. III.
An Act for the relief of John Garner, of Charles County.  Lib. TH.
                                       No. 2, fol. 1.
Levy authorised
for support of
John Garner.
    BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
justices of the levy court of Charles county be and they are hereby
empowered, if in their discretion they shall deem the same right
and proper, at their meeting for the purpose of laying their county
levy, to assess and levy annually, so long as the same shall be necessary,
a sum of money, not exceeding forty dollars, on the assessable
property of the said county, for the support and maintenance
of the aforesaid John Garner, to be collected as other county
charges are, and paid to the said John Garner, or his order.
