    1.  BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That 
Ephraim Howard, Abraham Crapster, Robert Cumming, James L.
Higgins, Philip Hines, Curtis Williams, Abraham Jones, Sabrit
Sollars, Dennis D. Howard and Frederick Unkefer, or a majority
of them, be and they are hereby authorised to propose a scheme of
a lottery for raising a sum of eleven hundred dollars, for the
purpose of finishing and completing the house of worship in Liberty-town,
and to sell and dispose of the tickets therein.
Bond to be given.     2.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said Ephraim Howard, Abraham
Crapster, Robert Cumming, James L. Higgins, Philip Hines,
Curtis Williams, Abraham Jones, Sabrit Sollars, Dennis D. Howard
and Frederick Unkefer, before they proceed to the sale of any
ticket or tickets in said lottery, shall give and execute a bond to
the state of Maryland, in the penalty of two thousand dollars, conditioned
that they will well and truly apply the monies arising
therefrom, within six months after the drawing thereof, to the payment
of the prizes drawn therein to the adventurers to whom they
shall be due, and the necessary expenses incurred in the management
thereof, and the residue to James L. Higgins, Henry Baker,
junior, Peter Buckey and Enoch Emsed, trustees for the methodist
society in Liberty-town, Frederick county, for the purpose of erecting
and building the house of divine worship aforesaid.
To be lodged in
clerk's office.
    3.  AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said bond shall be lodged in
the clerk's office of Frederick county, to be there recorded, and upon
such bond, or any office copy thereof, suit or suits may be instituted
for any breach or noncompliance with the condition thereof.
