                                            CHAP. VI.
A Supplementary ACT to an act, entitled, An act for the special appointment of
                                inspectors, and other purposes.

1778.
                                            CHAP. VII.
An ACT to continue an act, entitled, An act for enlarging the powers of the governor
                                            and council.
                                            CHAP. VIII.
            An ACT for the payment of the journal of accounts.
                                            CHAP. IX.
                    An ACT for the relief of certain nonjurors.
At a SESSION of the GENERAL ASSEMBLY
    of MARYLAND, begun and held at the city of 
    ANNAPOLIS,  on Monday the twenty-sixth of October,
    in the year of our Lord one thousand seven
    hundred and seventy-eight, and ended the 15th day
    of December:  The following laws were enacted.

            THOMAS JOHNSON, Esq; Governor.

                                            CHAP. I.
An ACT for the adjournment and continuance of several of the county courts
                                        within this state.

    Caroline to the second Tuesday in December next; Queen-Anne's to the third; Cæcil and Worcester
to the first Tuesday in January; Charles, Kent, and Somerset, to the second; and Prince-George's to
the third; Frederick and Dorchester to the second Tuesday in February; instead of their respective stated
terms in November next.  And, in Somerset county, all causes and proceedings, both criminal and
civil, now depending, and which were returnable to last August court, are adjourned and continued
to the second Tuesday in January.

                                            CHAP. II.
        An ACT for the relief of sundry of the inhabitants of this state.
                                            CHAP. III.
An ACT to prohibit, for a limited time, the exportation of wheat, flour, rye, Indian
    corn, rice, bread, beef, pork, bacon, live stock, peas, beans, oaths, and other
    victual.

    To continue until the 10th of May next.  Continued by the act of March, 1779, ch. 10, until the
end of the next session, when it expired, a new act having been passed under the same title.

                                            CHAP. IV.
    An ACT for the relief of Joshua Chilcut, of Caroline county.  PR.
                                            CHAP. V.
An ACT to enable Cassandra Ducker, widow and executrix of John Ducker, late
    of Anne-Arundel county, deceased, to sell and dispose of certain lands and mills
    therein mentioned.  PR.
                                            CHAP. VI.
An ACT for preventing excessive and deceitful gaming, and for other purposes
                                        therein mentioned.

    To commence on the first of February next and continue three years, &c.  Expired.

                                            CHAP. VII.
An ACT to raise the supplies for the year seventeen hundred and seventy-nine.

    To raise 5f in every pound of annual income; that is, every £. 100 of real and personal property is
to pay 25f.  Such debtors as are obliged to pay interest are allowed to charge their creditors 25f for
every £. 100 of their debt, which is not to be taxed.  Public offices of profit, clerkships and deputyships
