1779.                                 LAWS of MARYLAND.

                                            CHAP. XVII.
An ACT for the more effectual preventing forestalling and engrossing, and for
                             other purposes therein mentioned.

    To continue until the end of the next session, &c.  Expired.

                                            CHAP. I.
An ACT to authorise and empower Martha Roundel, of Prince-George's county,
    to dispose of all the real and personal estate now in her possession, by
    will.  PR.
                                            CHAP. XIX.
A Supplement to an act for the special appointment of inspectors, and for other
                                purposes therein mentioned.
                                            CHAP. XX.
An ACT to continue the act of assembly for enlarging the powers of the governor
                and council, and for other purposes therein mentioned.
                                            CHAP. XXI.
                An ACT for the relief of certain nonjurors.
                                            CHAP. XXII.
            An ACT for the payment of the journal of accounts.
At a SESSION of the GENERAL ASSEMBLY of
    MARYLAND, begun and held at the city of ANNAPOLIS,
    on Monday the eighth of November, in
    the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred

    and seventy-nine, and ended the 30th day of December:
    The following laws were enacted.

                    THOMAS SIM LEE, Esq; Governor.

                                            CHAP. I.
                           An ACT concerning nonjurors.
Collection of
treble tax suspended,
&c.
    BE it enacted, by the general assembly of Maryland, That the collection of
the treble tax, which nonjurors are liable to pay on the tax imposed by the
act, entitled, An additional supplement to the act, entitled, An act to raise
the supplies for the year seventeen hundred and seventy-nine, shall be and is hereby
suspended, until the end of the present session of this general assembly, any
thing to the contrary hereof notwithstanding.
                                            CHAP. II.
            An ACT for the relief of the reverend Francis Lauder.  PR.
                                            CHAP. III.
An ACT for the relief of Anna Maria Ringgold, of Kent county, widow.  PR.
                                            CHAP. IV.
An ACT to prevent the raising of geese and swine in the town of Cambridge.

    Persons suffering any of these animals, belonging to themselves, or being under their care, to go at
large in the said town, shall forfeit £. 5.  Any person may destroy such animals going at large, and, if
sued for it, may plead the general issue.

                                            CHAP. V.
    An ACT for the furtherance of justice in a particular cause.  PR.
                                            CHAP. VI.
        An ACT relating to the county courts of Caroline county.

    So much of the act of March, 1779, ch. 7, as directs the court to be held at Choptank bridge until
the court-house and prison shall be built, is suspended for seven years, &c.
