    Know ye that we the Electors of President and Vice President of
the United States of America duly elected in and for the State of
Maryland having met at the City of Annapolis on the day prescribed by
the Constitution and Laws of the United States to perform the trust reposed
in us and having voted and made out in due form certificates
and lists of the votes given and the persons voted for and having confidence
in ___________________ Esquire of the City of Baltimore have appointed
and by these presents do appoint and authorise him to take charge
of one of said certificates and lists and with all convenient dispatch
to convey and deliver the same to the President of the Senate of the United
States at Washington.
                           In Testimony whereof we have hereto set our hands
and seals this fifth day of December in the year Eighteen hundred
and sixty.









        The said credential was accordingly prepared in due form by the Secretary
and signed and sealed by the Electors.  Whereupon the President delivered it
with the other (the third, Electoral certificate to William Byrn with direction
to convey it with all convenient despatch before the first Wednesday in
January next ensuing to the President of the Senate of the United States at
Washington, and in the event of there being no President of the Senate as
aforesaid for him to deposit the same safely in the office of the Secretary
of State at Washington.
                On motion of Mr. Franklin it was resolved unanimously (the
Secretary putting the question that the thanks of this Electoral College are
tendered to the President thereof for the able and dignified manner in
which he has presided over its deliberating.
                On motion of Mr. Franklin it was resolved unanimously
that the thanks of this Electoral College are tendered to the officers of the
College for the faithful manner in which they discharged their duties.
                On motion of Mr. Franklin the Secretary was directed
to record and attest the proceedings of the Electoral College.
                On motion of Mr. Martin the Electors adjourned sine die
                                            Attest
