Allegeance, to the State of Maryland, and support the Constitution
and Laws thereof, and that we will bear true allegeance
to the United States of America, and support, protect, and
defend the Constitution, Laws, and Government thereof, as
the Supreme Law of the land, any Law or Ordinance of this or
any other State to the contrary notwithstanding, and that we
have never directly or indirectly by word act or deed, given any
aid, comfort or encouragement to those in rebellion against
the United States, or the lawful authorities thereof, but that
we have been truly and Loyally on the side of the United
States against those in armed rebellion against the United
States, and we do further swear, that we will to the best of our
abilities protest and defend, the Union of the United States
or the Government thereof to be distroyed under any circumstances
if in our power to prevent it, and that we will at
all times discountenance and oppose all political combinations
having for their object such disolution or distruction"

On motion of Mr. Sands, Mr. Albert was unanimously chosen
President.
On motion of Mr. Reese H. P. Jordan was unanimously appointed
Secretary who duly qualified as such.
On motion of Mr. Goldsborough J. T. Wright was appointed Messenger
and Wm. Freeman Door Keeper who severally qualified.
On motion of Mr. Goldsborough a committee of two was appointed
by the chair to wait on the Governor and inform His Excellency that
the Electoral College was organized.
                                     The Chair appointed Messrs. Goldsborough
and Nesbit said committee who performed the duty assigned them,
and delivered from His Excellency a sealed communication
containing three certificates covering the election of the Electors, which
were read and laid on the table.
On motion of Mr. Goldsborough the Electors proceeded to ballot
for President of the United States.
