    Proceedings of Electors.
                    of
    President and Vice President of the
United States in and for the State of Maryland
1880.
On the first Wednesday of December being the
first day of December in the year 1880 the
day appointed by the Constitution and laws
of the United States on which the Electors of
President and Vice President of the United States
of America are directed to assemble and perform
the trust reposed in them, here appeared in
the Senate Chamber in the City of Annapolis (The
place designated by acts of assembly for the
meeting of said Electors, the following gentlemen
who had been proclaimed by the Executive Authority
of the State to have been duly elected Electors of President
and Vice President of the United States in and for the
State of Maryland.    To Wit
                        I. Nevett Steele
                        I. Thos. C. Hopkins    at Large
1st Dist.            Levin L. Waters
2      "               Patrick H. Wacker
3      "               John R. McNulby
4      "               William H. Welsh
5      "                R. W. W. Bowie
6      "                William M. Price

The said Electors severally qualified by
taking the Oath prescribed by the Constitution
to be taken by all Civil officers.

On motion of Mr. Welsh Hon. I. Nevett Steele
was unanimously chosen President.
On motion of Mr. Bowie Eugene Higgins
of Baltimore City was elected Secretary
who duly qualified as such.
On motion of Mr. Bowie, a Committee of
three was appointed to wait upon the
Governor and inform him of the organization
of the College.
