received the highest number of votes, and were
duly chosen and elected in accordance with
the laws of Maryland Electors of President
and Vice President of the United States.

                                Given under my hand
                                and the Great Seal of
                                Maryland


                                Done at the City of Annapolis
                                on the                           day of
                                                              in the year
                                of our Lord, one thousand
                                        and of the independence
                                of the United States
                                the one hundred and twenty
                                first.

                                                        Secretary of State.
Which was read.

On motion by Mr. Talbot J. Albert

                                            The Electors then proceeded
to ballot for President of the United States for the
term beginning from and after the third day of
March 1897, in conformity with the requirements
of the Constitution and laws.

Mr. Talbot J. Albert nominated William McKinley
of the State of Ohio for President of the United
States for said term.

The President appointed as teller Messrs Watchman
and Welch.

The ballots of the Electors were deposited in a ballot box
which had been delivered to Messrs Watchman and
Welch who on counting the ballots reported that each
