Minutes. - 1933.

Proceedings of Electors of President and Vice President
of the United States of America in and for the
State of Maryland.

At noon on Wednesday, January 4th A. D. 1933, the
Electors of the State of Maryland for President and
Vice President of the United States of America, assembled
in the State House at Annapolis, as required
by the Act of Congress approved on May 29th
1928, Chapter 859.

There were present Frank A. Furst, Emerson C. Harrington;
James F. Evans; Stuart A. Janney; John C. Menke;
Charles T. Williams; in the absence of John W. Leitch, one
of the duly appointed Electors, on account of illness,
Thomas J. Younger was elected to fill his place in
the Electoral College; and Oliver H. Bruce, Jr.

His Excellency, Albert C. Ritchie, Governor of Maryland,
administered the oath of office to each of said Electors,
as required by Section 6 of Article I of the Constitution
of Maryland.

Hon. Frank A. Furst was unanimously elected as
President of the Electoral College, and Willis R. Jones
was unanimously elected as Secretary.

On behalf of the Governor of Maryland, Hon. David C.
Winebrenner, 3d. Secretary of State for the State of
Maryland, presented to the College six copies of the
original certificate of election of the Presidential
Electors, duly appointed as provided by law,
upon motion duly made and seconded, it was
resolved that the above copies be accepted
from the Governor as in compliance with the
provisions of the Act of Congress approved on
May 29th 1928, Chapter 859, and the Secretary was
directed to copy said certificate in the minutes
of this meeting.  The said certificate was in
the following form:

            Executive Department, Annapolis, Maryland.
