ALMSHOUSE.

P. L. L., 1888, Art. 10, sec. 1. 1860, Art. 10, sec. 1. 1892, ch. 3S2, sec. 2.

1. The County Commissioners shall have the right to employ the over-
seer of the almshouse at a salary of not more than two hundred dollars per
annum.

1892, ch. 332, sec. 3.

2. They shall visit the Almshouse at least once in every three months
either personally or by a committee of their number, to examine into the
condition and affairs of the institution, they shall levy upon the assessable
property of the county for any actual or expected deficiency of means for
its support, and they shall themselves, or by a committee of one or more
of their number, make all sales and purchases that may be necessary or
proper in conducting the affairs of the farm and almshouse and to do all
other acts and things necessary for the proper management of the same;
they may in their discretion, let out the farm and almshouse annually, to
the lowest bidder, including the stock, farming implements, etc., upon it,
requiring and taking from said lowest bidder a bond for three thousand
dollars, with ample security for the faithful performance of his duty, for
the feeding, clothing and care of the inmates and all other things which
they may think right and proper.

3. Whenever the Commissioners deem it just and proper they may
require indigent persons who receive out pensions to relinquish the same
and repair to the almshouse.
