(including a notary public) .having authority to administer oaths in
Prince George's County. Such records, when not being actually used by
said Board, shall be turned over to said Cottage City Commission to be
kept among the town records. Such records shall be open to public in-
spection.

(K) The record containing the names of these persons who have reg-
istered shall constitute and be the list of persons eligible to vote at all
town elections, and no person whose name does not appear on such record
shall be eligible to vote at any town election. Provided, however, that noth-
ing contained in this paragraph shall apply to the election provided for in
Section 12* of this Act to determine whether or not this charter shall be
adopted. And provided, further, that said Board of Election Supervisors
shall strike from such record or list of eligible voters the names of such
persons who have ceased, for a period of not less than six months, to be
bona fide residents of the town. But no name of any registered person
shall be stricken from such record or list of eligible voters unless (1) there
shall be filed with said Board of Election Supervisors a statement sworn
to by at least one registered voter to the effect that the person, whose name
is to be stricken off, is dead or for a period of not less than six months has
not been a bona fide resident of said town and (2) a notice of the inten-
tion of said Board to strike off such name shall have been posted, in each
ward and at the regular meeting place of The Cottage City Commission,
for at least two weeks before such name is stricken off. If at any time
before his name is stricken off, such person shall present himself to any
member of said Board, and take oath that he still is a bona fide resident
of said town his name shall not be stricken off. Any person who so swears
that he is such bona fide resident when in truth he is not such bona fide
resident shall be guilty of the crime of perjury, and subject to the penal-
ties provided by the law of the State of Maryland. But any person whose
name has been stricken off the list of eligible voters shall not be permitted
to vote unless and until he shall again register at the next regular regis-
tration.

(L) Annually, after this Charter becomes effective, on the first Monday
in May, if not a legal holiday, and if a legal holiday then on the day fol-
lowing, said Board of Election Supervisors shall conduct an election by
ballot for the election of the Commissioners to constitute and be the Cot-
tage City Commission for the ensuing year and until their successors shall
have qualified. Said election shall be held at the regular meeting place
of the Cottage City Commission and the polls shall be open and the bal-
lots cast between the hours of 5 o'clock P. M. and 10 o'clock P. M. At
such election each registered voter shall be allowed to vote for a candidate
from each of the three wards.

(M) Said Board shall prepare ballots containing the names of the can-
didates who shall have complied with the provisions of paragraph O of
this Section.
