1. The board of examiners of pilots is a body politic and corporate,
and may appoint a register who shall enter in a book to be provided for
that purpose all applications to and all other proceedings of the said board
and shall countersign all warrants for pilots granted by the board.

2. The board of examiners of Maryland pilots shall consist of three
members composed of the following persons: The president of the board
of trade, the president of the corn and flour exchange and the president
of the pilot association, and the pilots shall pay the said board one thousand
dollars a year to defray the expenses of said board.
