258. Any person or firm who shall use any scale, beam, steel-
yard or any other instrument in violation of this sub-title of this
article, shall, on conviction, before any justice of the peace, hav-
ing competent jurisdiction, or before the circuit court, for each
offence be fined not Jess than five nor more than one hundred
dollars, in the discretion of the justice or the court, one-half to
the informer and the residue to the county.
WILD FOWL.

259. It shall be lawful for the bona fide citizens of Queen
Anne's county to shoot wild fowl from sink-boxes in the waters
of said county, under such restrictions as hereinafter provided.
1886, ch. 148.
260. The use of sink-boxes is strictly forbidden in any creek,
cove or inlet above any point where said creek, cove or inlet shall
be four hundred yards or less in width.
1880, ch. 370.
261. No owner, master, hirer, borrower, employee of any
owner, or other persons, shall use or employ any sink-box of any
description whatever for the purpose of shooting at wild water-
fowl therefrom in the said waters, without first obtaining a license
to so use and employ the same as hereinafter provided.

362. The clerk of the circuit court for Queen Anne's county,
upon the application of any bona fide resident of Queen Anne's
county, being the owner of any sink-box, such as is allowed by
this sub-title of this article, and desiring to obtain a license to use
the same, shall grant a license under the seal of the court to such
applicant, specifying the name and residence of the applicant, the
number of the sink-box, the waters embraced in said license, the
width of water forbidden, and the penalty for its violation.

263. Every applicant, before obtaining said license, shall pay
the clerk of the circuit court for Queen Anne's county the sum,
