WHEREAS, the completion of the Savage River Dam will be
a direct benefit to the residents of Garrett and Allegany Coun-
ties in Maryland and Mineral County in West Virginia and an
indirect benefit to all of the, residents of the State of Mary-
land and the State of West Virginia as well as those to the
State of Virginia and the District of Columbia which border
on the banks of the Potomac River; now therefore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Congress of the United States be urged to appropriate the
necessary funds to complete the construction of the Savage
River Dam in Garrett County, Maryland; and be it further

Resolved, That copies of this Resolution be delivered in
person by the Secretary of State to the President Pro-Tem of
the Senate of the United States, the Speaker of the House of
Representatives, the Chairman of the House of Representa-
tives Appropriations Committee and the members of both
Houses representing the people of Maryland.

(Senate Joint Resolution 2)

Joint Resolution providing for the appointment of the Liquor
Control Board of Allegany County as a committee to in-
quire into and study the advisability and feasibility of
establishing and operating a County Wholesale Liquor Dis-
pensary in said County and also to inquire into the general
administration of the Alcoholic Beverages Laws applicable
in said County, and repealing Joint Resolution No. 22,
passed at the Regular Session of 1947.

WHEREAS, There has been, from time to time, discussion of
the feasibility of establishing a County Wholesale Liquor Dis-
pensary in Allegany County, House Bill 563 of the Regular
Session of 1947 having been introduced for that purpose; and

WHEREAS, it has been felt by many citizens of Allegany
County that the proposal for a County Wholesale Liquor Dis-
pensary should receive extended study; and

WHEREAS, there may also be need for a study of the ad-
ministration of the Alcoholic Beverages Laws applicable to
Allegany County; therefore, be it
