Gentlement

These Serve to informe yw that One John:Chancelor. of our hundred is listed as a Tytheable, whose age as he tells me is Sixty

four years and mr Pirrie informs me that he was discharged two years agoe upon accot of his age from paying Taxes

and my opinion is that he is rather an Object of Charity, not being able to provide for him Self; I remain yr Servt to Comd

              The abovesd Petion being read was not granted by ye worll. Court but ye sd Chancellor Continued a Tythable prson



To the worll Court now Sitting the humble Petion of Martin Curtis humbley Sheweth. Whereas Capt.Jno.Osborne

of this County was when he dyed justly indebted to yr Petioner the Sum of Six hundred thirty & three pounds of tobacco

upon accot. for which yr Petioner Craves an order agt Capt. Wm:Whittington as the Relict of Capt.Osbourne

decd. and as in duty bound Shall for Ever pray. //                                 No Result pr Court only sd Whittington demured to petr


              

To the Worll. their Maties Justices of the Peace for the County of Somerset in Court Sitting. The humble Petion of George Noble

humbly Sheweth - - - Whereas your Petioner understanding that last Court yr worps were pleased to order that I should

pay the Charges that accrued in an accon of their Maties Contra Samll.Worthington, which Seemeth Strange to yr Petioner

not knowing any Law or president that any Should Suffer for telling the truth, for it well known to yr Worps that the

Information I gave to ye Grand Jury was made good by his own Confession in Open Court, Seeing my information was truth

to lay then before the Grand Jury to find it presentable or no, which they did, Therefore yr Petioner humbly Conceiveth that

I am Clea of his fault, never understanding that Cryers ever kept Sheriffs books, or that Sheriffs acted or were ruled in

Chargeing their fees by Cryers, neither did I ever receive any fees for keeping Sherifs books, therefore not bound to Suffer

for his fault or Error. finding it enough to Suffer for my own. hoping yr Worps will impartialy Consider ye premises

your Petioner in duty bound Shall pray &ca. - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

                                               The petion abovesd was read in Court but not granted



              Ordered pr ye Worll. Court, that Joy Hobbs be Sumd to appa. tomorrow being Augo ye 1693. before the

              Justices in Court Sitting to render a further accot. of his List of Tytheables of Mony hundred. //

 


              

To their Maties Justices of the Peace for Somerset County the humble Petion of William:Scott Sheweth yr Whereas

Robert: Dukes of this County deceased, doth Stand indebted unto yr Petioner, the Sum of five hundred & thirty pounds

of tobacco, which Sume of tobacco yr Petioner humbly Craves yr worps Order against Thomas. Dixon, Admr of all & Singular

the goods Credits & Debts of the Said Robert: Dukes. And yr Petioner as in duty bound Shall ever pray &ca.

                                                The Admr not being present, no result was given


                

To the Worll Court of Somerset County now in Court Sitting. - - - The humble Petion of Samuel:Worthington

Sheweth That yr Worps would be pleased to admitt unto yr Petioner the Oath of an Attorney of this Court and your

Petioner as in duty bound Shall ever pray &ca. Petion to ye sd Worthington was granted & ye sd Oath Admrd

             Ordered pr Court that 50lb:tobacco be allowed ye Clerk of ye Court for an Attorneys Lycence to plead & Oath
