hereby repealed.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1947.

CHAPTER 927.
(Senate Bill 495)

AN ACT to repeal section 98 of Article 5 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title
"Calvert County", sub-title "County Treasurer", and to
enact in lieu thereof a new section to be known as Sec-
tion 98, relating to the election and tenure of the County
Treasurer for Calvert County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 98 of Article 5 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition) title "Calvert County",
sub-title "County Treasurer", be and it is hereby repealed
and that a new section be and it is hereby enacted in lieu
thereof, said new section to be known as Section 98 and to
read as follows:

98. At the general election held on the first Tuesday
after the first Monday in November every fourth year, ac-
counting from the year 1942, there shall be elected a
county treasurer for Calvert County by the qualified voters
of said county, who shall hold office for four years, and
until his successor is elected and qualified, as is herein-
after provided, to be subject to removal for wilful neglect
of duty or misdemeanor in office upon conviction in a
court of law; he shall not be eligible to re-election until
after an interval of one full term and until he shall have
fully settled up all business connected with his former
term; and the persons elected to said office under the
provisions of this section shall hold the same for four
years from the first day of January succeeding their elec-
tion ; and the said treasurer shall in all respects be clothed
with the powers given by Chapter 183 of the Acts of 1890.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1947.
