fee, provided, however, that such exhibition shall be sub-
ject to all provisions of law relating to licensing and cen-
sorship applicable to motion picture exhibitions on week
days. The work or employment of any operator, ticket sel-
ler or any other employees or attendants in connection
with any such exhibition of motion pictures shall not be
unlawful because performed on Sundays. Any exhibition of
motion pictures on Sundays, except as hereby authorized,
shall be unlawful, and subject to the provisions and penal-
ties of said Sections 560 and 576 of this Article.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That all laws and
parts of laws, whether public general or public local laws,
inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, be and the
same are hereby repealed with respect to any exhibition
authorized by Section 576B as enacted by Section 1 here-
of, to the extent of any such inconsistency.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That Sections 1
and 2 of this Act shall not become effective until they have
been submitted for adoption or rejection to the qualified
voters of the Town of Sykesville in Carroll County. At the
regular municipal election held in the Town of Sykesville,
Carroll County, in May, 1947, there shall be submitted to
the regular and qualified voters of the Town of Sykesville
the question whether the exhibition of motion pictures on
Sundays shall be authorized, as provided by Section 1 here-
of. The Mayor and Common Council of Sykesville shall
cause to be printed on the ballots to be used at said election
the title of this Act, and underneath said title on separate
lines a square or box to the right of and opposite the words
"For Motion Pictures on Sunday", and a corresponding
square or box to the right of and opposite the words
"Against Motion Pictures on Sunday", so that the said
voters shall be able to designate by a cross mark in the
proper square or box his or her decision for or against
motion pictures on Sunday.

If a majority of the votes cast at said election in the
Town of Sykesville on said question shall be "For Motion
Pictures on Sunday", then Sections 1 and 2 of this Act
shall automatically become effective in said town. If a
majority of the votes cast in said town on said question
shall be "Against Motion Pictures on Sunday", then Sec-
tions 1 and 2 of this Act shall not become effective in said
town.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
