United States Government for a grant in the amount of thirty
per cent (30%) of the estimated cost of the building, enlarging,
remodeling, improving, and equipping program hereinafter
provided.

14. The County Commissioners of Dorchester County,
Maryland, be, and they are hereby authorized, in their dis-
cretion, to negotiate with and accept and receive from the
United States Government, if obtainable, a thirty per cent
(30%) grant of the estimated cost of said building, enlarging,
remodeling, improving and equipping program hereinbefore
provided.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public safety, and being passed upon
a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all members
elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly of
Maryland, the same shall take effect from the date of its pas-
sage.

CHAPTER 17.

AN ACT to add two new sections, to follow immediately after
Section 222 of Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), as said Section 222 was repealed
and re-enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, 1935
Session, title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title "County
Commissioners", said new sections to be known as Sections
223 and 224 of said Article, authorizing and empowering the
County Commissioners to establish a special fire district
zone and to levy special taxes upon said zone for the purpose
of installing fire plugs and to defray the expenses of the spe-
cial privileges enjoyed therein.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That two new sections be added to follow immediately
after Section 222 of Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), as said Section 222 was repealed
and re-enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, 1935
Section, title "Anne Arundel County", sub-title "County Com-
missioners", said new sections to be known as Sections 223 and.
224, and to read as follows:

223. County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County are
hereby authorized and empowered to establish a fire district
