1352 JOINT RESOLUTIONS.

not later than December 31st, 1934, and the said report
shall contain a draft or drafts of bills in cpnformity with
its recommendations, and the said report, together with
said bills, shall be submitted by the Governor to the Gen-
eral Assembly of 1935.

NO. 7.

A Joint Resolution requesting the Postmaster General of
the United States to issue a commemorative stamp of
the One Hundred and Fiftieth Anniversary of General
George Washington's surrendering of his Commission as
Commander in Chief of the Continental Army, at An-
napolis, Maryland.

WHEREAS, On the 23rd of December, 1783, one of the put-
standing events in our Nation's history occurred in the
City of Annapolis, Maryland, namely: General George
Washington surrendered his Commission as Commander in
Chief of the Continental Army to the Continental Congress
then assembled in the Old Senate Chamber, which has been
restored by the State of Maryland to its original condition
and

WHEREAS, We believe this event to be of such historic
value as to merit this recognition; therefore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Postmaster General of the United States be and he is here-
by respectfully requested to issue a commemorative stamp
depicting this event, as shown on the large painting now
in the State House in Annapolis, Maryland; and be it
further

Resolved, That the Secretary of State of Maryland be
and he is hereby requested to send a copy of this resolu-
tion to the Postmaster General of the United States.
