1	Frankly, I don't think, as I get around the State, and
2	I've been getting around this State for a good many years
3	and mixing with all kind of people, I think you are going
4	to have difficulty in getting any constitution, perhaps,
5	adopted. There is no real -- you take in 1867 -r and I
6	don't know what would have happened in 1864 — in 1867,
7	you can guess, for instance, the reason in 1864, of in-
8	cluding that provision I mentioned about the Declaration,
9	or out of the Declaration of Independence, it paraphrases
10	and gives somewhat the same substance. I don't find any
11	great feeling among the people for any change in our
12	Constitution, except a few vocal people that are perhaps
13	very much agitated by certain individual things, and
14	frankly, I was a little bit surprised that the Legislature
15	even went as far as it did at this particular time, as -
16	close as they are.
17	This is an opinion that I have, but I express
18	it as coming in contact with a lot of people. I deal with
19	a lot of people besides people in agriculture, people in
20	commerce in the city included, and everybody else, but
21	I don't find any feeling about that.
