BALTIMORE CITY—

enclosing resolutions of the Mayor and City Coun-
cil, asking Legislative action to bring about an
early restoration of railroad communication, &c.
between Baltimore and other cities, referred to,
36 ; report made and adopted, 47 ; resolution ap-
pointing Messrs. Otho Scott, R. M. McLane and
W. H. Ross, Commissioners to communicate in
person, with the President of the United States,
in relation thereto, 50 ; message to Senate asking
its concurrence in report and resolution, adopted,
51 ; returned from Senate passed, 56; commis-
sioners reported in person to Senate and House,
and report accepted, 72 ; Senate message propo-
sing to refer report to committee on Federal Rela-
tions of both Houses concurred in, 75.

Leave granted to the Judiciary Committee to
bring in a bill to be entitled an act to amend the
IVth Article of the Code of Public Local Laws,
by adding thereto a section, vesting in the Board
of Police of the city of Baltimore all the authority
in said city now vested in a single Magistrate, and
Constable, under the provisions of the LXYIth
Article of the Code of General Public Laws, in
regard to free negroes and mulattoes, 38 ; bill re-
ported favorably, read a first and, by special or-
der, a second and third time, and passed, 58; re-
turned from the Senate passed, 74.

Leave granted select committee to introduce a-
bill to amend the 939th section of the IVth Article
of the Code of Public Local Laws, by increasing:
the amount of "Water Stock" thereby authorized
to be issued by the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore, to three millions five hundred thou-
sand dollars, in all, instead of three millions dol-
lars as by said section provided; laid on the ta-
ble, 38.

Leave granted the delegation from, to introduce
bill as above, 94.

Leave granted Military Committee to report a
bill to authorise the organization of an additional
Volunteer Division in, to be styled the Grand Di-
vision, 42.
