SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall take
effect July 1, 1990.

AN ACT concerning

Baltimore City - Board of License Commissioners - Salary - Penalties

FOR the purpose of altering the annual salary of the Chairman and members of the
Board of License Commissioners for Baltimore City; altering a certain penalty; and
providing that this Act does not apply to the salary or compensation of the
incumbent Chairman and members of the Board.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages

155.

(a) The salaries of the members of the boards of license commissioners shall be
as specified in this section. Where no salary is specified for such boards which serve ex
officio, the members may not receive additional compensation under the provisions of
this section.

(d) In Baltimore City, the chairman of the board shall receive an annual salary
of [$12,500] $18,500, and the other members of the board shall receive an annual salary
of [$12,000] $18,000. The board shall appoint an executive secretary and a deputy
executive secretary whose salaries shall be fixed by the board, subject to approval by the
State Comptroller. The executive secretary and a deputy executive secretary shall be of
high character and integrity. They shall be appointed upon the basis of their executive
