A majority of the taxable inhabitants re-

siding in any school district in said county,

at any legal district meeting, held under

the provisions of the act of 1825, chapter

162, are authorised to vote a tax on the re-

sident inhabitants of such district in aid of

the monies to be received and applied by

the trustees aforesaid, in payment of the

salaries of teachers, &c.
